Who the hell is

Who the hell is Liv Hayman?

Get to know some of the brilliant minds behind our work. We’re chatting with members of the DixonBaxi studio about what makes them who they are. From the professional to the personal, nothing is off limits here. Introducing: Liv, our junior motion designer who loves Wes Anderson films, title sequences, and believes that biscuits are best enjoyed frozen.

Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Liv and I’m the junior motion designer at DixonBaxi.

What’s your story?
I’ve grown up with a love for design, ideas and stories. I studied Graphic Communication and Design at Leeds University, where I found my love for art direction, imagery and textures. I recently graduated from The National Film and Television School with a postgrad in Motion Graphics and Titles, combining my love of film with my love of motion design.

What are you working on right now?
A very cool project, but the best part is working in a team with some amazingly talented people. I’m in awe!

Seeing a project go from an idea to an animation can be such an emotional process. It’s almost like giving away a part of your soul, but it can also be an amazing feeling seeing something in the world that started from one tiny idea.

Describe your working style in 3 words.
Unhealthy tunnel vision.

Tell us about some of your interests. What are you into?
I love Wes Anderson films, title sequences and frozen biscuits (they’re better frozen, trust me).

Do you think design can change the world? How?
Design can take you to a different time and place and can provoke thoughts, feelings and actions. It can help you escape or bring you home.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

What’s the last song you listened to?
Rice - Young Fathers.

Why do you do what you do? What motivates you?
I love seeing ideas come to life. Seeing a project go from an idea to an animation can be such an emotional process. It’s almost like giving away a part of your soul, but it can also be an amazing feeling seeing something in the world that started from one tiny idea.

What’s your definition of good design?
Good design is timeless.
