Five Network Rebrand
A complete identity and design overhaul for terrestrial TV channel Five as part of a Network rebrand.
Each component of the channel has been redesigned to create a surprising and seamless Five experience. More vocal, expressive and creative. Five has got its colour back.
Network Identities
The new logotype is at the heart of a completely new network identity, navigation system, visual look and comprehensive on and off air guidelines for both technical and creative applications.
Brand Bursts
A key part of our strategy was to avoid the typical logo driven idents so we developed ‘Brand Bursts’. Fun, eclectic and stimulating they are a reflection of the brand tonally rather than logo devices. Each is a different take on a facet of Five. They will become a rolling process with ongoing commissions making the channel everchanging and always evolving.
Collaboration
We approached some of the best creative teams and production companies in the UK, US and beyond. Over 100 submissions were narrowed to a set of twenty ideas that went into production. Teams as varied as Partizan, Aardman Animations, Buck, Flynn and Rokkit were selected to create bursts.
On Screen Navigation
An entirely new navigation and design system to underpin the channel.
Five News
The identities filter through to show segments including Sport and News.
Brand Guidelines
An extensive overview of the channel strategy, identity and use both on and off air.
Online and Beyond
We provided creative guidelines and direction to extend the identity to a new Five website, the Demand Five and Five FWD services.
Signage
The Five head offices have a new logo and interior look.
Advertising
The logo now integrates into all below the line advertising.
